(1954- ) A Palestinian political and media figure. Khatib was a member of the Palestinian delegation to the Madrid Conference
in 1991 and subsequent bilateral negotiations between Israel and the Palestine
Liberation Organization. He has always been a supporter of media advocacy and Palestinian-Israeli dialogue, leading the Jerusalem
. Media and Communications Centre in 2000, and soon after founding the online Bittlerlemons publications with Jewish Israeli Yossi Alpher. After serving in ministerial positions within the Palestinian Authority
from 2002-2006, Khatib taught at Birzeit University. As of 2015, he is a spokesman for the Palestinian Authority, of the Palestinian Government Media Center and a member of the Palestinian People’s Party. See "Ghassan Khatib
