Grants Manager

Just Vision increases the power and reach of Palestinians and Israelis working to end the occupation and build a future of freedom, dignity and equality for all. We ensure their inspiring, under-documented stories reach audiences around the globe through strategic public engagement campaigns that undermine stereotypes, inspire commitment and galvanize action. Just Vision uses our award-winning films (including Naila and the Uprising, My Neighbourhood, Budrus and Encounter Point), digital media (such as Local Call) and community organizing tools to engage audiences in the US, Israel, Palestine and beyond, amplifying the courageous efforts of ordinary people who act in the face of challenging odds. Our overarching goal is to contribute to fostering peace and an end to the occupation by rendering Palestinian and Israeli grassroots leaders more visible, valued and effective in their efforts.

We are a lean team of human rights advocates, media strategists, filmmakers and journalists. Our team is based in Washington, DC, NYC, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Just Vision is nonpartisan and religiously unaffiliated.

We are seeking a full-time Grants Manager to be based in Washington, DC or NYC. Just Vision’s donor base is comprised of private foundations, family foundations and individuals who are passionate about human rights, film, digital media, nonviolence and/or the Middle East. We have a 100% giving rate from our Board of Directors, who are active participants and help us steward the mission and vision of the organization. Our annual budget is approximately $1.7 million. This is a fast-paced job within a dynamic, high-performing team.

Position Summary

Just Vision is seeking a talented Grants Manager to support our institutional fundraising efforts. A successful candidate will have experience identifying, soliciting and tracking large multi-year grants from private and family foundations. Candidates must have excellent writing skills and a track record of consistently meeting deadlines. The Grants Manager will report to the Executive Director (based in the DC office), and will interact regularly with the rest of the Just Vision team.


  • Primary Responsibilities Include:

    Working closely with the Executive Director and Manager of Individual Giving to plan institutional funding strategies for new prospects as well as renewal funding.

    Writing eloquent, moving and succinct letters of intent, proposals and reports.

    Maintaining the institutional funding pipeline, including overseeing the calendar of grant deadlines and moves management for new and existing foundations.

    Anticipating and proactively crafting concise updates for prospective and current funders.

    Researching and identifying new institutional and major donor supporters.

    Building relationships with funders from diverse fields and backgrounds, including European funders and media funders.

    Preparing budgets and financial reports in coordination with the Executive Director and Director of Finance.

    Interacting with programmatic staff on a regular basis to maintain up-to-date knowledge of Just Vision’s activities and accomplishments, especially as needed for reports and proposals.

    Maintaining and ensuring foundation records (database records and computer files) are accurate and up-to-date in coordination with the Operations and Development Associate.

    Collaborating on team-wide development, communications and program-based projects, including our biannual mailing campaigns and donor events.

  • Qualifications:

    Exposure to the Israeli-Palestinian context. Demonstrated knowledge of international conflict resolution and/or the Middle East a plus.

    Two to three years of experience in a full-time development role with a track record of success in foundation grant writing and/or major gifts solicitation.

    Exceptional writing skills with the ability to successfully conceptualize, write and edit proposals, letters, reports and email drafts under varying deadlines.

    Strong eye for creating and maintaining rigorous organizational systems.

    Outstanding attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-performance culture.

    Computer skills, including database and Excel spreadsheet management.

    Comfortable working independently as part of a primarily remote team.

    Energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humor.

  • Preferred Qualifications Include:

    Experience with database processing (especially Salesforce).

    Arabic and/or Hebrew language abilities and overseas experience appreciated, but not required.
