Development Intern

Remote Interns will be considered

The Development Intern supports our Development Team, including conducting prospect research, maintaining our donor database, meeting project-based needs as they arise, and offering day-to-day administrative support. This internship develops skills related to nonprofit market research, Salesforce and CRM management, and data analysis. This position is appropriate for those interested in a career in development, fundraising, and nonprofit management. It is also suitable for a person interested in or passionate about Israel-Palestine.

Interns joining Just Vision’s team will have front-seat access to how a dynamic organization approaches fundraising, donor organizing, and events, and will play a key role in supporting key aspects of the development program. The ideal candidate has strong writing and research skills, is detail-oriented, and is passionate about driving attention to underreported stories on Israel-Palestine.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on individuals and foundations who may be potential supporters of Just Vision
  • Prepare written summaries of research findings for the Development Team and Executive Director
  • Create prospect memos by gathering research on potential donors, strategic contacts, and partners identified by the Development Team
  • Attend virtual workshops and webinars hosted by organizations similar to Just Vision or platforms such as Salesforce, WealthEngine, Click & Pledge, etc., that provide information relevant to our work
  • Assist in managing and updating Just Vision’s fundraising database and donor record keeping; support the execution of a longer-term project of tagging all donors with the correct contact statuses
  • Draft donor acknowledgments for donations and upload the letters to both Salesforce and Box.com
  • Oversee an internal gift tracker for all incoming donations from mid-year and end-of-year campaigns
  • Provide general administrative support as needed

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written English language abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and proactive
  • Tact and diplomacy required to interact with supporters
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
  • Experience conducting research and writing summaries on findings
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Proficient computer skills (especially with Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Knowledge and interest in Israel, Palestine, or social movements is a plus

Remote interns will be considered, but given our working hours, interns should be based in the US. Applicants must be available to work 15-20 hours per week, at least three (3) days per week. As part of the internship program, the Intern will receive a $500/month stipend to help offset the cost of expenses (housing, travel, health insurance, etc.) incurred during the internship.
