Just Vision's Executive Director, Suhad Babaa, and Public Engagement Manager, Emma Alpert, will share exclusive early footage from our forthcoming documentary about the women who covertly led the largest unarmed civil resistance campaign in Palestinian history, the First Intifada. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with civil resistance scholars and practitioners, Erica Chenoweth, Maria Stephan and Sophie Schor, on the role of women in strategic nonviolent organizing and how lessons from the First Intifada can inform contemporary movements for rights and dignity.
This event is part of the inaugural IGLI Institute at the Sié Center for International Security and Diplomacy, which convenes women activists from around the world who are currently involved in civil resistance campaigns to promote peace, human rights, and freedom.
