Suhad Babaa
Suhad Babaa is the Digital Resources and Education Coordinator at Just Vision, an organization dedicated to increasing media coverage and support for Palestinian and Israeli civilians working nonviolently to end the occupation and the conflict. Suhad coordinates the development and distribution of Just Vision’s educational tools and the publication process of digital resources such as Just Vision’s Visionary interviews with grassroots civic leaders. In this role, she liaises with educators and community leaders across the United States.
Previously, Suhad spent time in the Republic of Korea, where she worked with People’s Solidarity for a Participatory Democracy (PSPD), conducting comparative country research on the US military realignment plan in Japan and South Korea. In 2007, she joined Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (FFIPP) in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. While in the region, she worked with the Applied Research Institute Jerusalem (ARIJ), and developed and taught English lessons for a youth summer camp in Sakhnin. Since 2007, Suhad has maintained a leadership role with FFIPP, coordinating over 80 students in the last four American delegations for their annual internship program.
Suhad is a New Leaders Fellow at the Center for Progressive Leadership, a national civic training institute that develops young leaders across the country. Prior to joining Just Vision, Suhad interned with the Middle East and North Africa Team at Vital Voices Global Partnership and was a paralegal at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
Suhad graduated with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania where she received a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy & Economics and led initiatives to raise awareness around sexuality and engage campus leaders to take the lead on LGBTQ related advocacy efforts.
